There seems to have new findings on how our brains manage with bad memories. I am curious to know exactly how our brains function when it is attacked by traumatic experiences and how exactly our brain wired if we use talk therapy and non-verbal therapy such as expressive/creative arts and play therapy.
What works and what does not? If talk therapy such as CBT is effective to treat PTSD or other anxiety-related symptoms, how does it actually re-wire the parts of our brains that store the traumatic memories?
And vice-versa for Non-talk therapy.
I found these articles that have a piece of new data regarding the latest findings that may shed some lights on my above questions.
